Poland Second Rehearsal

It's time for our host nation to take to stage and show us all why Poland have become such a formidable force when it comes to Junior Eurovision.

Viki Gabor positions herself and children as a whole as the Superhero that will save our world before the clock, very literally, runs out as the countdown timer engulfs the stage and the TV screen. A striking outfit, colourful suits that are too big for the backing dancers and sign-language are all memorable elements, and the English/Polish vocals blend seamlessly. Make no mistake, this song and Viki herself are big hits in this country. There will be a lot of excitement about this on Sunday, and given the ability to vote for your own country at Junior Eurovision it shouldn't be discounted in securing back-to-back victories.

Poland came last with their initial efforts at Junior Eurovision in both 2003 and 2004. Perhaps that's why they took a 12 year hiatus. Since returning in 2016, they have faired better and better each year. If Poland won this year, it would be the first back-to-back Eurovision victory since Ireland in the mid-90s.

David Webster will be reporting live from rehearsals throughout the day on Gateway 97.8 ( For UK commentary with ESC Insight's Ewan Spence and Ben Robertson, tune in to Castlepoint FM on Sunday 24th November from 15:00 GMT.
