Belarus Second Rehearsal

It feels like typical Belorussian Eurovision-fodder with Liza Misnikova being the last to take to the stage before we break for lunch in this morning's rehearsal schedule.

Whether it's the adult version of the contest or the junior edition, there's usually a distinct character to a Belarus entry at Eurovision. Pleasant. Inoffensive. Dated. And unfortunately that's everything we have from Liza Misnikova's track Pepelny (Ashen). As we have learnt time and time again, that equates to forgettable and therefore not enough votes.

Belarus have taken part in all 17 editions of Junior Eurovision. Mid-00s they enjoyed a stronghold with a second place finish in-between two victories in 2005 and 2007, but last year was one of their worst results to-date, finishing outside the top 10 in 11th place.

David Webster will be reporting live from rehearsals throughout the day on Gateway 97.8 ( For UK commentary with ESC Insight's Ewan Spence and Ben Robertson, tune in to Castlepoint FM on Sunday 24th November from 15:00 GMT.
