Phil has proudly joined David on his various radio stations throughout the years as his chief Eurovision correspondent and expert.

As editor of On Europe, Phil has been writing about the yearly song contest since 1999. Now almost 20 years later, the site continues to go from strength to strength and has grown a loyal following. Reporting and blogging live from the press centre every year, Phil also follows the national selections and junior competitions with avid interest.

Ana helps us all remember the true spirit of the competition - celebrating with friends, having a Eurovision-themed gathering and championing the uptempo dance tracks is what it's all about!

As joint author and editor of her and her sister's website, Ana's Mission Eurovision is simple: provide us all with yummy cocktails and tasty recipe ideas for every song, nation and country. Lisa-Jayne Lewis

Lisa is the newest addition to the Eurovision Special panel. She discovered the Eurovision Song Contest in 1991, fell in love with it in 1992 by the time 1993 rocked up, she was a confirmed addict!

During her time living in the USA, her parents recorded every Eurovision Song Contest which she would then catch up with on her next visit back to the UK. Lisa now lives in The Cotswolds, but spends as much time as she can in Vienna... and she has a tattoo of Conchita’s beard on her wrist – why not?!

Alasdair is the President of the United Kingdom branch of the Organisation Générale des Amateurs de l’Eurovision, the largest Eurovision fan network.

Alasdair has had a glittering career in journalism. Currently a senior parliamentary press officer, he previously worked for many years as a journalist with the BBC, including as a senior producer for BBC Parliament. His background and first love is radio, having worked at a number of stations including Radio Forth, Rock FM, Classic Gold and Northants 96.

Ewan Spence

BAFTA-Nominated Broadcaster and Journalist, ESC Insight

Ewan has worked with a wide range of organisations from mainstream broadcasters (including SBS and the BBC), through national stations, and at local and community levels


He was Scotland's first podcaster in 2005, continues to host and produce groundbreaking shows to this day., and is one of the leading journalists covering The Eurovision Song Contest, providing commentary, coverage, and punditry. Since 2014 he has been the producer and commentator for the United Kingdom's broadcast of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
